When giving a gift
I don't charge
but neither
do I ask
if you want it
We aren't caterpillars
we have many cocoons
not just mitzvahs, confirmation, quinceañeros
many passages to crawl out of
and emerge standing
no flower, me
the hypnotist orchid
or the nymph daisy
But a sucker bee falling in them
never dusting my legs
